Jarl Vargar Hallvardr
Photographer, videographer, director
Born Franck Michallon, Jarl Vargar discovered his passion for photography and videography at an early age. From his native homeland to the Germanic countries, his journey has been incredibly diverse and eventful. When he officially founded Michallon Production in 2018, it didn't take long for his talent to become widely known. Since then, Vargar has created over 500 videos of various kinds and immortalized countless photographs.
With his affinity for the medieval and fantasy world, Vargar founded Kolsvart Studios and has since been active in German-speaking scenes with great passion and enthusiasm.

Justin Neff
Photographer Switzerland
Justin Neff joined Kolsvart Studios in September 2023. The young, talented photographer impressed Vargar with his skills from the very beginning. Like Vargar, Justin travels to Swiss markets, capturing memories in photographs commissioned by Kolsvart Studios. Outside of the medieval scene, Justin demonstrates his expertise in areas such as portrait photography, nature, animal, macro, and wildlife photography.
Sam Finen Diatrix
Photographer: Switzerland
Sam had been interested in photography for a few years, initially only as an amateur. He has been involved in the medieval reenactment scene for almost 10 years. About two years ago, after his first meeting with various photographers, including Thorygg Stenhugger and Jarl Vargar Hallvardr, he discovered his talent and an even greater passion for photography. Since the end of 2024, he has been working for Kolvars Studios within the scene. He is also very interested in nature and wildlife photography.

Raffaela Schertler
Photographer: Austria
With roots in picturesque Vorarlberg and a deep passion for the Middle Ages, Raffaela Schertler brings exceptional talent and dedication to the art of photography. Her enthusiasm for castles, ruins, and medieval markets shapes her work, as does her love for authentic clothing and historical details.
Since 2022, Raffaela has been an active LARPer (Live Action Roleplay) and through her memberships in “Vorlarpberg” and “Reenactor Brigantium” she has not only acquired extensive knowledge about medieval camp life, but has also developed unique skills in the photographic staging of characters and scenes.
Whether it's period costumes, gleaming armor, or the vibrant atmosphere of a market – Raffaela has a knack for capturing the magic of bygone eras through her lens. In 2024, she took her passion to a new level by actively participating in the organization of a medieval market on Gebhardsberg in Bregenz, capturing unforgettable moments along the way.
Her photos are more than pictures – they are windows into another time, characterized by authenticity, attention to detail and a special sense of atmosphere.
Andreas Gubler
Photographer: Switzerland
I'm 55 years old, a mechanic, and I come from the Zurich Oberland region. Photography has always fascinated me because it allows you to capture special moments for eternity. So far, I've only taken simple photos, as topics like camera settings and image editing are still new to me.
Our first meeting at the Blood Ravens' feast inspired me to deepen my passion for photography and learn new things. Besides photography, I love medieval markets, motorcycling, and winter sports.

Ramona Sigg
Photographer: Switzerland
My name is Ramona and I come from the Winterthur region. At medieval events, I'm known as Aela, a shieldmaiden (fantasy). I often travel with my boyfriend and our VW T4 campervan to markets in Switzerland and neighboring countries. I've been taking photos since I was little (back then with my father), simply because I enjoy it. I still need some practice, but I'm confident and open to feedback.
DENNIS WICKLEIN
Photographer: Germany
My name is Dennis Wicklein, known as “Das Fotoeck”. Photography is more than a hobby for me – it's my passion, with which I capture special moments and the unique atmosphere of medieval markets and encampments.
I come from Germany and regularly travel to markets and events to capture stories with my camera. I am particularly fascinated by the combination of tradition, history, and modern photography.
